Hi, my name is Jorryt de Vries. Co-owner of Smartworkz. I have been working in IT for over 20+ years. I had roles from developer to consultant, project management, coaching, etc. I am result-oriented, pragmatic, analytical and always looking for solutions.

Over the years it became clear to me that I am always looking for connections. Be it personal or digital, this is what drives me and what I am looking for. Connection is also the key in IT and it is from that conviction I joined Smartworkz.

David

I specialize in Data Engineering and DevOps engineering, integrating data sources, establishing standards to create data platforms, developing processing/enrichment applications and deploying them.

I also take care of deploying critical, redundant, and high-availability infrastructure to support a multitude of applications.

What I am good at, are DevOps, Architecture Design, Data Streaming, Data Integration, Data Replication, Abstraction, Data Modeling, Clustering, Indexing, Systems Design, and Application Design.

Desmond

Hi I'm Desmond and I'm a Senior Lead Software Developer at Smartworkz I've been in the business for 20 years, where I initially focused on back-end development, but in recent years I've expanded my knowledge in the field of front-end and Azure. The combination of front-end, back-end, Azure and Lead is the golden circle for me, the combination that I enjoy doing the most. Developing nice software and coaching and guiding people. I love to deliver beautiful products together with a team, to let the individuals or the entire team grow and thus help a company grow further.

In my free time I like to do fun things with my wife and son. We love to go out with family and friends, to enjoy good food and drinks, but we are certainly not averse to a party here and there to go dancing

Sander

I am an enthusiastic, driven and flexible guy.

During my work I like to joke, I am always looking for a good atmosphere and I am there for others. In addition to my technical work, I always try to improve processes where possible and contribute ideas in this area.

My ambition is to continuously improve in the field of Cloud, DevOps and data. I have already gained a lot of experience in the field of Cloud & DevOps. I am very good at designing and building future-proof solutions for all kinds of different environments. I prefer to do this in combination with the public Cloud, but I also have a lot of experience on-premise. 

Sarwan

Hi, I'm Sarwan, a positive and driven team player with strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mentality. My expertise lies in developing quantitative data solutions in Python/C++. I am good at independently identifying problems within systems and coming up with effective solutions. Through my academic career, I have learned to ask the right questions that lead me in the right direction, even when things don't go as expected. This is not only applicable in my career, but also in my personal life.

That's my motto. In the rapidly changing IT world, you are expected to always be up to date with your knowledge. That suits me: I am eager to learn and love a challenge. That is why, after my MBO, I completed the HBO Cyber Security & Cloud and at the same time further developed myself as a DevOps & Cloud Engineer. I also continue to broaden my skills by closely following the latest techniques.

I am an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer with experience in Azure & AWS. I enjoy complicated problems that really take some time to get to the bottom of to find a solution. I like to share my ideas and expertise with my colleagues. I involve my colleagues in the work I perform and like to share my knowledge.

I am a very driven, eager to learn and goal-oriented person. I am direct in my communication and like to think along with stakeholders/customers. During my work I try to be of service, I often take the initiative and approach problems with an efficient solution orientation. 

I have a lot of experience in the field of Cloud,  DevOps & IaC. I am always looking for realistic solutions by providing future-proof solutions and helping to realize them in the Cloud. 

I enjoy learning new technologies and quickly master them. Since the start of my career in IT, I have been thrown in at the deep end, the challenges that come with this stimulate and motivate me, and give me appreciation for my work. 

Mark

I get excited about everything related to AI, from ML engineering to generative AI. My goal is to contribute to a data-driven future by developing AI use cases that actually add value for end users or improve business processes. 

My experience includes combining ML engineering and data science to solve complex problems, develop machine learning models, and improve interpretability and explainability. 

I am also actively involved in the production process and strive for improvements in scalability, speed, and security, while I value communication with users and sharing knowledge.

Gustavo

I am a pragmatic and results-oriented person who easily thinks outside the box to solve challenges and logical puzzles. I enjoy working with others and analyzing a large problem and breaking it down into manageable tasks.

I am a DevOps Engineer through and through. For the last 10 years I have been at the technical cutting edge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and associated tools and techniques in combination with backend development.

Danny

I am a driven and enthusiastic IT professional with more than 11 years of experience in IT. I work with a pragmatic and curious approach and quickly master new techniques and tools. I am seen as a person who is easy to communicate with and who is always open to a chat or a joke. This creates a good atmosphere in the workplace and a connection with colleagues and customers.

Due to the solid foundation from the traditional on-premise world and the rapidly changing IT world, the switch to Cloud computing was a logical step. I have now also been able to lay a good foundation in the Public Cloud domain by carrying out various functions and activities on both AWS and Azure. My ambition is to continue to grow in the public Cloud and DevOps domain, and make an impact for customers by taking them along on the journey to the public Cloud.

Leyi

I'm a passionate and driven Data Engineer with a wide range of expertise. I love cracking jokes at work, but once my headphones are on, I'm all in on the task at hand.

I started as a Data Analyst at LUMC, then became a Data Scientist at Zorginstituut, and refined my skills during a four-year stint as a Data Engineer at the Port of Rotterdam. This experience helps me bridge communication and collaboration across disciplines since I’ve been on all sides.

These roles often blend together, exposing me to various techniques. This makes the work fun and challenging, as there’s always a puzzle to solve to get things technically right.

Over the years, I’ve developed deep expertise in Azure, setting up infrastructure for a data lakehouse platform. I'm well-versed in CI/CD, performance, scalability, monitoring, alerting, observability, and lineage.
